A Sea Change...

Hello Possums

what a couple of weeks.
Not that great either but I'll spare you the details.
Lots of germs of the flu variety and lots of trips to and from the optometrists with faulty lenses.
Lots of trips into Batemans Bay to look at this view,

And lots of time to finish unfinished projects like this one.

King Parrot Embroidery

Value your sight peeps. I think everyone takes it for granted.

In other news, my 'Free Range' show is going well.
A big shout out to everyone that came to the opening, you are the best!

Here are some pictures of the work.
They're still up for a couple of weeks more so make sure you check it out. All sales are through me so just give me a tinkle if you're interested in anything.

After all the chook drawing it's time for a change......a sea change perhaps....

We went for a glorious walk last weekend at Brou Lake just south of Bodalla.
After a ranging storm there were hundreds of Sea Tulips, Coral, Weed and Sea Squirts all over the beach.
It was like the sea had belched up it's organs. So many bits looked like hearts and lungs and other human bits. I couldn't believe the colours either - bright orange and red and purple. Almost plastic looking. It was hard to differentiate between the organic things and the plastic rubbish that had managed to get mixed up in it. There were bluebottles too.
So many textures!!! I got very, very excited and took a million photos.
Thanks to the handy mobile phone camera.

Prints people. There will be prints!!
I'm thinking layered, brightly coloured, perhaps even papier mache forms....!! We'll sea!

Here are some photos.

Here are some pieces of treasure I brought home.
The car was pretty stinky by the time we got back....

And this book.
Is beautiful!!

AND
I found this poor birdy's wing today.
Now we have a garage full of skulls and coral and animal remains.
I'm not a bit creepy!

(p.s. how great is that concrete background?!!)

More coming soon,
PROMISE!
