procrastination black hole

Hello Dearests,

I have been stuck in a black hole of procrastination.

Too much endless blog foraging and movie watching and the luxury of having the house (and the TV!) all to myself.

I did find some inspiration though....

These lovely photos.... The Girl with Seven Horses.

Allison Schulnik is GREAT! :)
I'm especially excited about her films and drawings.
Here's one...

Last week we popped (actually better make that whizzed.......I felt like we never actually left the car!) up to Sydney-town for a fantastic Brad Mehldau & Joshua Redman gig (jazz....) and had a VERY speedy visit to the Art Gallery of NSW, poking our heads in to see the Dobell Drawing Prize
This prize usually makes me very grumpy and disheartened due to it's extremely conservative choice of work. This year it was FANTASTIC. :)
David Fairbairn, John Fitzgibbons and a new favourite, Tanya Chaitow were the best.
Lots of charcoal and LINES.

Here are a couple of Tanya's works.
The first is the piece I saw at the Dobell, the second is one of her paintings.

And there was movie watching to cheer me up....

Bringing Up Baby.

This was very very silly but very very FUN.
Prison breaks, cross dressing, a dog called George and a leopard called Baby who is rather fond of dogs.....  I can't remember the last time I laughed so much. And......Cary Grant AND Katherine Hepburn.....? Yes Please! :)

Susan.......SUSAN!

There was also Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Just look at the cast.
Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch (BEST name!), Colin Firth, John Hurt, Mark Strong.......

Did I mention Benedict Cumberbatch?
Benedict Cumberbatch.....Cumberbatch.....
Sorry. Got a little off track there.
He has the best wardrobe in the movie. Look at his little face. :)

Now to do some work......

Oh! But I got a job...
Moruya Books. Friendly books, new friends!
First training shift was yesterday. Quite enjoyable I must say.

And last but not least.......I did actually climb out of my black hole of procrastination.

Here is a little peep of some new creatures.

Til next time Possums.

xoxoxo
