Done & Dusted

Hello Dearests.....
Another Exhibition Bites the Dust....

A big thank you to all the lovely people who came and had a peek. It's been really nice sifting through all the encouraging comments in my visitors book.

Here are a couple of pics for those who missed out.

This was at the end of opening night. I think it says it all really.....

Exhibitions are always a complete anti-climax. You spend all that time and effort making the work, stressing out about the deadlines, do you have enough, blah blah blah......then you put it up, have the opening, get lost in no man's land while the show is up then have to take it down and pack it away.
Sigh.....
Then you go and do it all again.

While we were in Sydney madly running around like chickens with cut off heads we had a brief chance to check out the Biennale
It's great!

Any excuse to wander around Cockatoo Island is fine by me. :)
Here are a couple of my favourites....

Binh Dahn
Yes, that's a REAL leaf. Chlorophyll printing apparently.
Amazing!

Philip Beesley
And my FAVOURITE.....
Yuken Teruya
Trees cut out of paper shopping bags and lit from above.

I'm trying to work out what to do with my Bat & Owl Press merchandise.
To make cards or not to make cards.....that is the question!
Bunting, Cushions........???
I am bobbing along on a sea of misdirection and confusion.
I am like a kitten being distracted by a thousand strings.

BUT, I have a market in Braidwood coming up in August so decisions MUST be made soon!
Any suggestions?

The embroidery is coming along quite nicely.....so much so I think I'm going to start embroidering some etchings. My lovely Aunt gave me a couple of boxes of old embroidery silks.....
TREASURE!
There is a whole box of different greens....I can see forests already!

J is for.....
Speaking of embroidery, a couple of days ago I went on a little adventure with my new friend Claudine while she was doing a shoot for the gorgeous ladies at Dowry
I think I was salivating on everything in the room....lucky Chris gave me some of her delicious fruit cake otherwise things could have got messy!
I am so jealous of their studio. It was so inspiring!
Work going on everywhere, talking about embroidery, masses of beautiful fabrics and buttons and furniture. If you have not heard of Dowry before I implore you check them out. Fleur & her mum Chris make gorgeous clothes and upholstered furniture using beautiful old tapestries and other recycled fabrics.
I've lost my heart to a "Monarch of the Glen".... a handsome stag tapestry on a footstool. Sigh......he's so dreamy. I'm so excited, we're going to do a dear swap! Dearest for Dearest. :)

My camera IS STILL broken. GRRRR.......Waiting for a part apparently....
Thank goodness for photo booth! :)

Our lounge room :)
Anyway....here's a few words from Mr. Freddie Mercury & friends.
(I do like a red bandana....)

Til next time...

J
xoxo
