Bathtubs & Inky Prints

SO tired. 

I've been printing some large scale etchings for my exhibition all day. 

So much inking, I think I'll be dreaming about it.....scrape and rub, scrape and rub!!

Not to mention the high I got from the clean up fumes. 

I don't have a water bath tray big enough for the size of paper I'm working with so I've been running up and down the stairs to the bathtub all day. For those of you who aren't familiar with etching you need to soak the paper in water before you print on it. 

Let me tell you, it's all very awkward trying to navigate stairs and carry a large sheet of wet paper without getting any fingerprints on it!

I did have a close call with a little water spill and a bottom step.....

Anywho.....Lots of fun and games. 

I don't have any pictures of the etchings yet but here are a couple of little old me hard at work to keep you occupied.

Inking the plate up....

Here I am carefully lining the plate up on the registration sheet.

Fingerprint gone!

The print is made up of 7 individual plates so I have to ink up everything separately.....argh....it takes forever.............

Well I think I've babbled enough. Time for some chocolate and David Attenborough.

Next time I promise there'll be less me and more prints.
